Renting in Perth Western Australia

Renting in Perth

Renting a home in Perth is a great way to get settled in and adapt to their way of life. Many people decide to rent while they are figuring out where to build, live, or work.

There are two basic types of rentals that you can get in Perth:
-Long term (minimum 6 months)
-Short Term (1 day to 90 days)

Short term rentals are much more expensive than long term rentals because they are usually furnished. A short term rental can cost you $500 or more per week, while long term rentals usually run between $200 - $490 per week. Average rent is $300.

A bond is charged when first signing up for a rental. The bond usually consists of about four weeks worth of rent and the landlord puts the bond into a Tenancy Bond Account with the State Governments Bond Adminstrator. The bond is then kept in the Tenancy Bond Account for the duration of the lease.

The balance of the bond will be returned to you once the lease has expired and the landlord has looked over the property. If there are any damages or cleaning requirements the landlord will withhold money from the bond and use it to repair any problems.

Finding places to rent in Perth is getting quite difficult due to increased rates and less investments in properties. The My Place Network will nevertheless make sure that everything is ready to go when you arrive in Perth.
